Dr John Roddam interviews his daughter Lori who has been in YWAM for twenty years
This Sunday we celebrated the arrival of the Magi as they worship Jesus. In Matthew’s Gospel we read that the Wise Men who came from the east arrived at the house where they saw the child Jesus with His mother Mary (Matt. 2:11). This is a really important story, and we don’t want to lose the gravity of it. This celebration is called “epiphany” which means “appearing.” This is the first time that Jesus appears to Gentiles, which implies that Jesus is the Saviour for all people—not just the Jews. We also learn that Jesus was a child, possible two years of age. (That’s why Herod had all the little boys two years of age and under murdered!) After the visit of the Magi, Joseph took Mary and Jesus to Egypt where they waited out the reign of Herod. Fortunately, the gifts they received from the Magi, made it possible for them to travel and live overseas for several years! An amazing story in the life of Christ. This week, we’re also back to the Book of the Revelation. We’re going to look at the power of prayer in heaven!
So come, join us as we worship the triune God together. Here’s the announcement:
