Rule of Life this Sunday

This Sunday we begin a series of sermons based on “A Rule Of Life.” Written in the 1540s the Rule of Life says: “Every Christian man or woman should from time to time frame for themselves a RULE OF LIFE in accordance with the precepts of the Gospel and the faith and order of the Church.” This is a great spiritual exercise during the Lenten season as we prepare for Easter. This Sunday the Rev. Dr. Ed Hird begins our Lenten preaching series with a sermon entitled: “Fleeing From His Real Presence ” (Psalm 139:1–12) And… don’t forget, we formally start our Lenten season next Wednesday with our Ash Wednesday service, a combined service with the White Rock Lutheran Church. White Rock Lutheran’s pastor Norm Miller will preach a sermon entitled “It’s All About Relationships” (Joel 2:12–17).

Important Details:

  • Celebrating Lent at All Saints: “A Rule Of Life” preaching series begins this Sunday the 15th February.
  • Ladies’ Refresh Prayer at All Saints Church 10:30am every Tuesday. All women are welcome to come for a refreshing time of Scripture reading, fellowship, and prayer. 
  • Weekly Men’s Fellowship. An informal gathering for men. 9:30am Wednesdays at Bean-Around-The-Word coffee shop, White Rock (corner of Johnston Road and Thrift Avenue White Rock). Contact Mike Inch for details. All men welcome.
  • Ash Wednesday Service. 7:00pm at All Saints Community Church. Combined worship service with the White Rock Lutheran Church. Everyone welcome.
  • All Saints Prayer and Bible Study 7:00pm every Thursday. Cathie Bolan will lead us in our study of the Apostle John’s first Epistle. Everyone welcome.
     
  • Bishop Peter and Jenny traveling to Australia: 15th February to 15th March. See the Rev. Dr. Ed Hird for any pastoral matters.
  • Don’t forget that we are a fragrant free church. Several people are highly allergic to scents. Please refrain from wearing fragrances. Thank you.
