We (my wife Janice and I, my son Mark, and grandson writer Aaron (age 12) had a delightful time at Fleetwood Library in Surrey where the Public Library invited us for the first time ever to be presenters at a ‘Authors Among You’ event. Our son Mark did a dramatic book reading from our Blue Sky novel.
The event was almost cancelled because only two had preregistered, so we asked our friends to register, saving the event. Around 15 to 20 attending, many as dropins. A few were Christians. Many were wannabe authors, looking for advice on how to get published. We got to be salt and light in a complicated context. We were allowed to sell our seven different books at a book table.
All in all, a good day. Have any other social media colleagues ever been invited to present at similar public library events? How did it go? Ed+
