This week we celebrate the Transfiguration of Jesus. We read in the synoptic Gospels that Jesus was on a mountain top with his three closest disciples: Peter, James, and John. Suddenly Jesus was “transfigured” into His eternal state—glowing brilliant white, when suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared to Him: no insignificant event! Moses and Elijah who represented the “Law and the Prophets” were speaking to the “Promised Messiah.” The importance of the transfiguration cannot be overestimated. The Old Testament of law and prophet was now affirming the Messiah of Israel—in person! And three disciples were there to witness the miracle. Definitely something to be celebrated. Also, this week, we’ll read about St. John’s advice to the early church—and by application—to the church of today: how to prepare for the second coming of Jesus and the judgement of the world. What a fascinating section in the Book of the Revelation to study.

Ladies’ Refresh Prayer at All Saints Church 10:30am every Tuesday. All women are welcome to come for a refreshing time of Scripture reading, fellowship, and prayer.
Weekly Men’s Fellowship: “Been Around The Word”. An informal gathering for men. 9:30am Wednesdays at “Bean-Around-The-World” coffee shop, White Rock (corner of Johnston Road and Thrift Avenue White Rock). All men welcome.
Prayer and Bible Study: Thursdays at 7:00pm. Currently, we are studying the Book of Proverbs. Everyone is welcome.
Book Signing “God’s Firestarters: Healing Pioneers” by The Rev. Dr. Canon Ed and Janice Hird. Sunday 2^nd of August after the service. $25. (For each book sale $5 will go to Project Oikos).
Next Community Lunch Sunday August 9^th after the service. Bring some food to share with your Church family. (Remember that we have no heating or cooling facilities until our renovations are complete.) Everyone is welcome.
World Bocce Tournament 2:00pm Sunday the 30^th August at the Klenners. (Bring your own meat for dinner—everything else is provided.) Friends and family especially welcome. Free tickets available.
